Deep in the forest, near a lake, there is a house that might look abandoned at first, until you take a closer look. Who lives here, people ask, maybe a hermit that tired of the noise of a city decided to left everything, or maybe an old lady, whose husband passed away decades ago and now leaves lonely in her cabin, wandering through the wood. Maybe we will never know. There is a bike, right there next to the tree, but it have not been moved in ages, and the cup over that table seems to be fairly old. The tiny blue birds have built homes around the thick leaves hanging from the house´s roof, and the woodhouse is almost empty. Is it someone even living here? For my 3D1 Final, I decided to make a diorama based off my village back in India. Located atop mountains and surrounded by nature, a lush green environment, a lake, and, reimagined with semi-modern architecture, my diorama depicts what a forest loner might live like around that area. It’s messy, but for someone who’s only modeled for more or less 6 months, I’m very proud of it. As much as I’d like to state that this diorama is a solo effort, it wouldn’t have been possible without the feedback of the extremely helpful DAE Community, including Andra, Theoni, Timeea, Verena, and Kris.
