Personal project - so I went crazy on the textures… all hand painted, no photos used.
I plan to extend this into a full diorama at some point. So everything is set up for fully baked lighting (i.e. no overlapping UVs)… meant it took a LOT longer but hopefully it’ll be worth it in the end. More to come!

The villagers in the small mountain village were fascinated by the story of Kongming and his lanterns, and they decided to make their own. They made the lanterns out of rice paper, bamboo, and a small candle.
