Hey there! This is an old model I decided to finish, i hope you’ll like it. The idea was to make an knight of the Hippotamus order, yes ! i worked with Maya and Zbrush for modeling and rigging. The textures were created with Substance painter. This model was originaly created for CG rendering, explaining the high polycount number.

The design of the staff is based on the Khakkhara, a staff used by practitioners of Buddhism. The staff is used primarily for prayer, but also functions as a walking stick and a weapon if necessary. Wanted to do something cute for a change. First thing that came to my mind was a fox selling sugar, an old inside joke with my little brothers that has spread in my family and extended family. It is also neatly connected with a local saying (unreliable translation) “Sour, said the fox about the rowan berry”. A quick internet search told me that this saying seems to be a localized reference to the “The Fox and the Grapes” fable. So I added some rowan berries and leaves.

starting out as a sketchfab mini comp, this has slowly become a bit of a project that I keep chipping away at and I think I’m finally ready to call this done :)
