The botter was a true work horse during the major part of the Dutch history. Since 1700 you could often find this ship on the rivers and the SouthSea. Used for transport, fishing or cargo, this ship used by everyone. It was just the right size for a small business owner, easy to manoeuvre and had a flat bottom to very shallow places. Here’s a project I’ve been working on for the past month and a bit, inspired by the Southern Air Temple location in Avatar The Last Airbender.
This was mainly exploring environment building inside of Unreal Engine, and experimenting with wind simulation inside of Houdini. I learned a lot in Unreal Engine, as I went in with very limited knowledge.

Aerial WEH 3D Model.

3D model of the aerial WEH (wind energy harvester). The model shows 2 versions; one uses regular weather balloons, another uses a paragliding chute. Both are inflated using hydrogen gas, generated by a hydrogen generator at the surface. A printed circuit board (PCB) continuously checks the gas present in the balloon/chute and refills a s necessairy. The balloon version has uninflated balloons that can be filled in an emergency situation. The electricity generator sits in the middle (DOES NOT connect directly to the axle) and is connected to the gear hub (which is electrically controlled via a motor near the tail). A concept gear hub has also be added seperatly in the model.
