It's almost a year ago that I uploaded my first ship model, the IJN Fubuki, so I decided to make one of her more advanced sister ships: The IJN Ayanami. The Ayanami was build for the Imperial Japanese Navy and when introduced into service she was one of the most powerful destroyer in the world. She sustained critical damage after being shelled by the USS Washington during the second phase of the Battle of Guadalcanal (15 November 1942) and was later scuttled by IJN Uranami. Made in less than a hundred copies, the self-propelled vehicle was one of several armored vehicles produced by Nazi Germany with the reuse of captured or obsolete materials: it was an old French artillery tractor Lorraine 37L to which a heavy field bolt had been coupled sFH 13 of 150 mm, without any other substantial modification.
