3D model of the Boeing 747-8i, featuring the latest Lufthansa livery. This is the ground version of my model, with landing gear, flaps fully extended, and relaxed wings. The Boeing 747 is a large, long–range wide-body airliner and cargo aircraft manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in the United States. The lastest version, 747-8, was launched on November 14, 2005, with new General Electric GEnx engines, and was first delivered in October 2011. The passenger version, named 747-8 Intercontinental or 747-8i, can carry 467 passengers in a typical three-class configuration over 7,790 nmi (14,430 km). The -8i’s upper deck is lengthened compared to the 747-400; the wing is thicker and deeper, holding more fuel, and wider with raked wingtips. The 747-8i is the biggest airliner of the Boeing Company, and the world’s fastest commercial jet. The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is an American long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. The B-52 was designed and built by Boeing, which has continued to provide support and upgrades. It has been operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s. The bomber can carry up to 70,000 pounds (32,000 kg) of weapons, and has a typical combat range of around 8,800 miles (14,200 km).
The B-52 took its maiden flight in April 1952. Built to carry nuclear weapons for Cold War–era deterrence missions, the B-52 Stratofortress replaced the Convair B-36 Peacemaker. A veteran of several wars, the B-52 has dropped only conventional munitions in combat.
The B-52 has been in service with the USAF since 1955. There are 72 aircraft in inventory as of 2022. It completed 60 years of continuous service with its original operator in 2015.
