The Colt Model 727 Government Carbine is the carbine Variant of the M16A2 Rifle (Mod 701-713). The Model 727 is notable as being the carbine that would become the Colt M4 and M4A1 in U.S. service (Mod 977-979). The Model 727 appears in a slew of games usually incorrectly called the “M4" or “M4A1" despite being rather different. the more notable appearances of the Mod 727 would be in the Half-Life 1 HD model pack made by Gearbox for Blue shift where the 727 with a M203 UBGL replaces the 9mm AR (HK MP5SD), the games submachinegun. the other notable appearance ins in Far-Cry 1 where the 727 appears in the place of a M4A1 with flat top receiver. the Model 727 is easily disguisable form most other AR-15 variants due to its A2 Carry Handle upper receiver and Carbine Barrel, although with the low-poly models and small textures, its understandable why the 727 is a stand in for the newer M4A1 Carbine. the Colt 727 would seem to be relegated to the role of newbie starting rifle in the more modern first-person shooters 3D Model is ready to download for free
