Découverte en 1894, devant le porche de la grotte du Pape à Brassempouy dans les Landres, la célèbre Dame à la capuche est l'un des plus anciens portraits de l'homme par lui-même. L'expression de ce visage quelque peu énigmatique se révèle d'une grande beauté, empreinte d'une grande sérénité.

Discovered in 1894, in front of the porch of the grotte du Pape, at Brassempouy, Landes, the famous ‘Hooded Lady' is one of the oldest portraits by the hand of Man. The facial expression somewhat enigmatic is possessed of a true beauty, suffused with a great serenity.
