A crystal-powered floating castle. There be demons inside. Pink demons. I was aiming for a Warcraft look (as in Frozen Throne, not necessarily WoW) with limited resolution hand painted textures. Glow FX were originally done as billboard planes, flickering was achieved by randomly rescaling them; the little bat and moving candle flames were animated by shifting UV - as these techniques are currently unavailable on Sketchfab I edited them out and left a static model with no billboard tracking. As a countermeasure, to make it look better when rotated, I added a tiny tad of postprocessed bloom 3D Model is ready to download for free

I created this warmaul for DAE’s Weaponcraft asssignment.
A relic weapon designed for “The Scarlet Crusade”, a fanatical religious sect on a grand quest to rid Azeroth of the Undead Scourge up in former Lordaeron. It never had the possibility to shine its brightest light due all the corruption from within.
The Scarlet Crusade always interested me in the time I played WoW, but never did I invest in their lore as much. Doing a deep dive I discovered about this lad Saidan Dathoran who was their “Grand Crusader” before being corrupted by this dreadlord. The weapon they portrayed Dathoran with looked like a big rock on a stick, so I thought I’d design something a bit more worthy for a “Grand Crusader”.
