It started out as a low poly model but was never finished. To finally finish it I decided to add lots of new detail as well as completely re-texture it, adding additional maps that our game engine didn't support at the time (like normal maps). It includes a fully modelled cockpit (which would have been interactive had the game ever been made), and a detailed rotary engine; both of which have their own set of texture maps so will be easy to reuse in other projects. Included in the optional download are all uncompressed texture maps in PNG format (diffuse, AO, roughness, metallic, and normal), as well as quadrangular and triangulated versions of the mesh. I saw some pictures of these planes sitting in an abandoned airfield a while back and decided it’d be an interesting texture to try and replicate, most of the normal map was painted by hand, so this took a while

The main intention behind this gun was to make it look old, rugged and intimidating, combining these to give an old-school feel. The mechanism of this gun is similar to a modern minigun, the body holds the magazine on hooks which makes reloading a slow task. The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons.
