A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin.
The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation). The units have a 10-frame loop animation of the movement of the diodes and the rotation of the fans. Also, the door pivot position allows to create an animation of opening and closing
The UV map is made with overlaps for better optimization. 2nd UV channel for lightmap baking in Game Engines without overlaps
