Herm of Dionysus Luna Marble. Found in 1933 on the Via dei Fori Imperiali in Rome, Italy. Now in the Museo Montemartini, Rome. Herms are squared stone pillars with a sculpted head at the top and, typically, genitalia on the lower section. The Herm form originated in Ancient Greece and was adopted by the Romans. In Ancient Greece, Herms were placed at crossings, boundaries, and borders. Sometimes they functioned as signposts, when near a road, with distances inscribed upon them. This use may derive from the Greek God Hermes, the messenger god who was also the patron of travelers and wayfarers. The Herm of Dionysus shown here is missing its marble shaft. Dionysus was the Greco-Roman god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, and fertility. He is typically shown, as here, with grapes and grape leaves in his hair, and, in early representations, a long, curly beard 3D Model is ready to download for free

This is a 3D model of a cast of the Terme Ruler, an ancient bronze statue in the Museo Nazionale Palazzo Massimo in Rome. The cast is made of plaster and is in Statens Musueum for Kunst in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Terme Ruler depicts a man with a disproportionately muscular body, especially when compared to its more modestly shaped head. Estimations date this statue to near the 2nd century BCE, comparing it to the Terme Boxer, particularly in hair style.

Cooking Through History: Ancient Rome
The portioned segments not only made the bread easier to share and consume, reflecting the communal aspect of Roman meals, but also the efficiency and thoughtfulness in food preparation and distribution. In ancient Rome, white bread was often consumed by the wealthy, while darker bread was typically eaten by the poor. Today, however, darker breads, rich in whole grains, are valued for their health benefits, highlighting a shift in perception where what was once considered lesser is now often deemed healthier. This is the simplest version, separated by a reedstick without rope.
