My friend Victor Spinelli has a famous photograph called diver up. We have been planning to recreate this photo as a sculpture for Burning Man, and in preparation for this, we invited a model to help recreate the scene using 3D scanning technology.
I scanned her several times, using both Photogrammetry & the Structure Sensor combined with Itseez 3D scanning software. We ended up using the Structure scan because the quality was a bit better.
We will repeat the process with several models to compile them into the ideal scan & then begin the process of converting the mesh into a structure made either out of metal or wood.
