Model of a rare Soviet sewing machine “Podolsk 2M" with a manual drive. When in 1901 the Singer company began construction of a factory for the production of sewing machines, few people assumed that the products of this plant would be in demand so much that the enterprise would develop so intensively that more than five thousand workers would work on it, and production by 1913 would grow to 2500 copies per day. After the revolution of 1917, the plant was stopped, but the equipment, fortunately, was not destroyed. In 1923, the work of the enterprise was restored, but the sewing machines were already produced not with the name “SINGER", but under the brand" PMZ","Gosshveimashtina".
