The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring. The accuracy of the digital replicas of the rings was 0.01 mm. The authors of the reconstructions are

Le castellum de Horbourg-Wihr est un camp militaire romain datant du quatrième siècle (estimé avec une fourchette d’une quarantaine d’année : 330-370). Ce camp forme un quadrilatère quasi régulier d’environ 170m par côté en mesurant à partir de la face externe, pour une superficie de 2.87 hectares. Le périmètre du camp a pu être établi de manière précise grâce aux travaux de C. Winkler et E.A. Herrenschneider à la fin du 19ème siècle et début 20ème.
