As the Clone Wars pushed into their fourth year, the Republic began to look back at existing ships in service and determine how best they could be preserved and improved to increase survivability and compatibility with other ships in the fleet. One such ship that underwent multiple improvements was the Arquitens-class Light Cruiser. Space: Above and Beyond it’s a science fiction television series that originally aired on Fox. Originally planned for five seasons, it only ran for one season from 1995–1996 before being canceled. Set in the years 2063–2064, the show focuses on the “Wildcards”, members of the United States Marine Corps 58th Squadron of the Space Aviator Cavalry. They are stationed on the space carrier USS Saratoga. The models of ships and fighters in this series are among my favorites.
