Carved by the sculpture Praxiteles in the fourth Century B.C. from fine marble, the original sculpture, which is no longer extant, enjoyed great reknown as the first devotional statue of a female goddess in the nude. After causing an immediate sensation when it was installed in a sacred precint on the island of Knidos, it inspired many re-creations over the succeding centuries. Limited scan. Because of the difficult environment, I was forced to take pictures from very far with almost no sight of the back. I partly reconstructed missing parts in this area and textured too. I also did some manual delighting in blender to suppress hard shadows caused by morning sunlight.
