Type 2 Ho-I was based on a chassis and hull of the Type 1 Chi-He medium tank (3D model also available).
It was designed as a self-propelled howitzer and was meant to provide close fire support for standard Japanese medium tanks with additional ability to destroy enemy anti-tank fortifications.
