I optimized low-poly detective model I created in the past. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/simply-stylized-male-detective-5f16d447960c480f90952d54a373ba0e Previously, it contained extra meshes and vertex counts, and we improved the system with human anatomy in mind and were able to significantly reduce the number of triangles. The previous model was covered with a coat, which sometimes overlapped during animation, causing the legs to protrude outward, but this model is assimilated into the coat and does not collapse when animated. So there are two models, one is in coat, another is in suits. And they both wear a hut but it can be removed/hidden as you like. This is a tribute to the creative team behind the now classic 80s sci-fi film Robocop (1987), in a playful cartoony style.
Models and rigging done in September 2015, finally added proper looping animation & enhanced the textures in July 2017.
Robocop’s nemesis ED209 is doing a ta-da remembering it’s staircase misadventure from the movie.
For Murphy, I made him drawing his Auto-9 pistol and takes aim, but does his classic gun spin and holster without firing.
As police brutality and unnecessary killings of innocent people are frequent news in US these days, I do hope the future of law enforcement will always serve public trust, protect the innocence, and uphold the law.

This character was based off of a concept drawing by Jelle Gijsberts as well as a tutorial by user Zachary1999. I approached the model using some of my own modeling techniques in blender, unwrapping in blender, and texturing using Substance Painter. The Idle animation was done via Mixamo.
