Today, I organised a 3D scanning workshop at ESSEC Business School. A brand new Knowledge Lab has been inaugurated a few months ago. It is a fab-lab for scientific and pedagogical innovation. Workshops on many different topics are organised on a regular basis, and today was about 3D scanning! Now a few students know how to take good pictures with no shades, good lighting, and from any angle ; how to use Recap360 or Memento to turn those pictures into a 3D model ; how to enhance its mesh on Meshlab ; how to publish it on Sketchfab, edit it with the 3D Settings, publish it anywhere online, and enjoy it in VR straight from their cardboard! Here was the object we used for the workshop, a set of coasters that look like tennis rackets. Well, we are not particularly fans of tennis in my family, even if we watch Roland-Garros as every French dudes do, so I have actually no idea why we have that at home.
