  VR Gravity Sketch Thunderbird Proposal 3D Model 2026-07-16
My submission for a past Sketchwars theme: redo a classic… My thought is that something went astray with the Thunderbird between 1963 and 1967. My 3D sketch is a proposal for a different aesthetic bridge between the lovely 1963 body style and the somewhat radical departure of 1967. This took 4 hours to do, completely done in 3D while immersed in VR using Gravity Sketch. I had 2D reference pictures in the scene, but all the ideation of the forms was done in 3D. This is a non-traditional medium (skipping 2D) so I did a bunch of tweaking with post process effects to give it a more grainy textured paper/punchy colors/rendered look … minus the dabs of white gouache for highlights! (uploaded new model, corrected blackout surfaces, added rear bumper, tweaked some surfaces, added more details in spots)

This is a 3D model from American muscle car with police attributes that I made. I made this model because it was inspired by the character Decepticon Barricade in the movie Transformers 5 (The Last Knight) which was released in 2017. Therefore, I, as a fan of the Transformers films, made this model in 3D. The interior of the car is not detailed, because I only focus on the exterior.
