La 575 quando fu presentata era la GT stradale più veloce mai prodotta dalla Scuderia di Maranello.
Montava il motore più potente mai messo per una Rossa di serie e, per la prima volta, un cambio automatico a 6 marce F1 derivato proprio dalle auto da corsa.
Grazie all’assetto equilibrato e performante, la Ferrari 575 M è stata utilizzata anche nelle competizioni sportive nella versione 575 GTC.
La linea elegante della 575 Maranello richiama quella della 550, entrambe disegnate da Pininfarina.
