Exterior and interior of a so called smoke cabin, from the 15th or 16th century. Ruins of the cabin were found at the archaeological excavations of the medieval village Gubbacka in present day Vantaa in Finland. People and some of the domestic animals of the village live together inside the cabin during the cold winter. The large furnace covers one fourth of the total floor area. The cottage had no chimney, so the smoke from the furnace came in to the room and left the building from small holes in the wall 3D Model is ready to download for free
