It was hard to come up with a mini-er version of R2D2, so I just scaled him down. That's creativity in action! Purchase includes keyed STL files for printing (though in this case they're not male-female keys, but rather matching holes for dowels to connect the parts), along with textured and rigged characters in Maya files (backwards compatible to at least Maya 2016). Model of Asuka Langley the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion! Posed as she is in her official artwork – spunky and tsundere.
I wanted to do a chibi model of Asuka after working on the Mass Produced Evangelion character (also visible on my page!), and in the end I think she came out really cute! I like modeling cute things truthfully as well as figurative characters, so this project was definitely a lot of fun. It was once again a big learning experience though, as I really tried to work on things like facial topology, that anime-feeling style, and being painterly with my textures. I still have a long way to go of course, but this felt like a big milestone that I’m happy to have done!
