I stumbled across an amazing concept of this bugbear by Jaemin Kim and thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to make a full character from a concept. I started by sculpting the whole body in ZBrush and then retopologized using the Zsphere tool. I then went on to unwrap him in 3ds Max, texture him in Substance Painter, finally using Maya to rig and do the simple breathing animation. The folding chair (sella curulis) was an important sign of power in Roman times. There were seals with or without a backrest, which folded like scissors, like modern camping chairs, for easy portability. Modeled in Blender with PBR texture (Diffuse/Metallic/Roughness/Normal openGL) in Substance Painter at 4k, 2k, 1k resolution. Different LOD implementations.
