Model of the iconic slot hilt sabre. With 80cm length, the blade features a fearsome broad fuller and very aggressive distal taper(reduction in thickness). It tapers from 8mm at the base to half of that in less than 1/3 to the tip. The top 1/3 area are less than 2mm, giving the sword excellent handling despite its width.
Such officer’s sword would usually have its grip wrapped in fish skin and metal wires. A metal sheet is also present to cover the back of the grip for durability, though it can sometimes be slippery.
