The An-2 is a light multi-purpose single-engine biplane transport aircraft designed by the Soviet Antonov Design Bureau in 1946. It has smooth flight and reliable structure. It was put into production in 1947. The main production line was discontinued in 1991, with a total output of more than 18,000 aircraft. Its production period of nearly 45 years was once a Guinness World Record. China successfully copied it in 1957 and named it Y-5.
