Plot summary from IMDB: The film takes place in the not-so-distant future, at a time in which Earth’s plant life has been decimated. Only a few specimens of flora have been preserved, and are currently in space in a fleet of orbiting greenhouses. When orders from Earth are received to destroy the greenhouses, botanist and ecologist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) can’t go through with it, and cannot persuade his three colleagues to help him save the plants, so he makes other “arrangements”.
