For my 3D1 Final, I decided to make a diorama based off my village back in India. Located atop mountains and surrounded by nature, a lush green environment, a lake, and, reimagined with semi-modern architecture, my diorama depicts what a forest loner might live like around that area. It's messy, but for someone who's only modeled for more or less 6 months, I'm very proud of it. As much as I'd like to state that this diorama is a solo effort, it wouldn't have been possible without the feedback of the extremely helpful DAE Community, including Andra, Theoni, Timeea, Verena, and Kris. This is my scene for the Howest DAE diorama assignment.
Before starting my studies at DAE I went on a summer trip to Norway and found the nature there, and in particular the forests, to be very inspiring. I tried to capture some of that experience in the foliage and landscaping of the garden. My main goal for this scene was to make it feel like a believable whole while still keeping a strong overall composition. I really tried to push myself on this one so any feedback will always be appreciated.
I did my best to convey the forest loner’s story of why he lives where he does. He may be an art thief but I didn’t want to commit any actual art theft myself, so the paintings are just some photographs, mostly from Norway.
