The distressed look is created by applying multiple colour layers, hand painting over them with chalk brushes (as to simulate a real life chalk paint finish) and applying various visual generators. The flower motif is created from old vintage postcards featuring flowers. I cut various parts of, photo-bashed them together and left some rough edges on purpose to indicate that they, just like the paint on the piece, are old and used up.
