Maple Samurai. Created for Feudal Japan challenge on ArtStation. 99895 triangles. Four 2k texture sets. The character is not based on any concept. The plan was to create the most realistic samurai armor I could in a given time. Hope I succeeded. Initially I've also wanted to include an environment which tells a small story abut his connection to a maple tree but had no time to create it during the contest. The bascinet was a late 11th century - 12th century armor piece designed to deflect blows from swords and arrows. The visor was an addition made in the early 12th century.
